Cross Examine: Why?

Today we begin a new series of messages titled Cross Examine. We’re going to take these next Sundays leading up to Easter Sunday to explore the why, the what, the who and the so what of Jesus cross. Today we start with the question, Why? Why does the death of a first century Jewish carpenter turned teacher still carry a power that has reached across centuries, continents, countries, cultures and colors—that seems to go beyond any one articulate explanation and beyond the boundaries of the church or even of explicit Christian faith?
